Comments have flooded that said article and blamed the site’s “draconian” manifesto, which was issued after fan outburst on Breaking Dawn. Twilight Tuesday: Stephenie Meyer answers your Breaking Dawn Questions

Posted in News Articles, Steph Meyer, Twilight with tags on August 13, 2008 by twilightmovie

Despite criticisms and fan backlash, Stephenie Meyer still answered your burning questions about Breaking Dawn. Fans were given a chance to send their questions through MTV and she has graciously answered a few. Head over to MTV and see whether your questions were chosen, and what she has to say about Reneesme, Bella, Edward and writing more Twilight books in the future. Plus, a while back Stephenie Meyer was asked the possibility of Breaking Dawn being made into a movie and she answered that if she had her way, she would make 2 movies out of Breaking Dawn. The author backtracked a bit on her answer. She said that “she is not a movie person, so she doesnt know. But if she thinks that BD will be too long for one movie and cutting it after book 2 would be the best plausible way.”

Also, fan backlash has gone from bad to worse as some disgruntled Twilight fans has gone into major damage property. Hackers have hacked into the Twilight Lexicon Blog, bringing down the site for 48 hours. Some data files were lost and will never be recovered but the good news is that the site is back online now.

In other news, MTV is asking fans to tweak their Twilight Brains by submitting questions to help them make a Twilight Quiz. Head over to the Movies Blog to get post your questions.

Twilight at BFI’s Movie Con Weekend

Posted in News Articles, Twilight with tags on August 11, 2008 by twilightmovie

Twilight, starring Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, will be featured in the Brtitish Film Institute’s (BFI) Movie Con Weekend. This will take place at London’s BFI Southbank on August 16 - 17. Other fims to be screened are Hell Boy 2, Pineapple Express, Watcmen, Wolfman and Bolt to name a few. To read more about the event and scheduile of previews, you may go to the BFI’s website. Empire Magazine, the official medi partner has this to say about Twilight:

We apologise in advance for any possible screams, but there’s likely to be a strong reaction when Twilight unveils footage at Movie-Con. When scenes of the adaptation of the first in Stephenie Meyer’s vampire romance series were shown at Comic-Con the squeals could be heard as far as Bora Bora. The film, directed by Catherine Hardwicke, follows a teenage girl (Kristen Stewart) who moves to a new town and becomes drawn to a hunky 17-year-old (Robert Pattinson)…who is actually a 108-year-old vampire. The books are already enormously popular, so see for yourself how it translates to film. Empire cannot be held responsible for any deafness resulting from fan fervour.

Stephenie Meyer and Breaking Dawn Criticisms

Posted in News Articles, Steph Meyer, Twilight with tags , on August 9, 2008 by twilightmovie

Stephenie Meyer is very busy this week. Not only was she busy with her Breaking Dawn concert series but she is also busy fending off criticisms, especially from fans, about Breaking Dawn. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly and MTV, Meyer said that “she cannot please anybody and that there would always be criticisms since not all people are going to be happy with her written ending. Though she somehow prepared herself for that, it still hurts when she hears it.” She also mentioned that she has been surfing the internet, especially You Tube, for fan reactions and it surprises her the intensity of the harshness her fans have expressed. To view the interviews, click on the links above.

On a side note, a big congratulations to Twilighter and MTV reporter, Larry Carroll and his wife for a bouncing baby boy.

More Breaking Dawn News and Reviews plus Robert Pattinson!

Still within the Breaking Dawn Release hype, Entertainment Weekly is bringing you the Breaking Dawn release party in LA LIVE! Head over to their page right now (by clicking the link) and watch the whole event on the web.

Patricia Sellers of Fortune Magazine (and CNN Money) has a quick blog about the Twilight phenomenon, which haven’t heard off until last weekend.

The Buffalo News and Publishers Weekly chronicles the success of Breaking Dawn during its release. However with some fans not entirely happy with how it ends and with some even campaigning for it to be returned, Publisher’s Weekly sought out Little, Brown, SM’s publisher’s regarding the issue. Here is what they have to say:

Little, Brown spokesperson Melanie Chang said the company has not received negative feedback from accounts, and that the wide range of reactions among readers is to be expected. “With a book as eagerly anticipated as Breaking Dawn there’s going to be diverse reactions,” she said. “Stephenie Meyer’s fans are incredibly passionate about her books, so it’s no surprise that readers respond with equal passion.” Chang also noted that the paperback edition of Twilight had its best week to date last week, evidence that Meyer continues to attract new readers.

As expected, Breaking Dawn is number 1 in Wallstreet’s and USA Today’s Best Seller List. The other books in the Twilight Saga are also in the list as well as The Host.

Books reviews for Breaking Dawn by Seacoastonline, New York Daily News and knoxnews.com are also made available on-line.

Premiere has posted their interview with Robert Pattinson and Rachelle Laferve take during the Comic Con. Click on the link to read about it.
