Kellan Lutz: considered for Conan the Barbarian

According to Nikki Finke, Kellan Lutz was one of the actors that was one of the two actors that was considered to fill in the shoes of Arnold Schwarzenegger in the remake of the Conan the Barbarian film.

Dimbort’s departure would come as Millennium gets close to a production start on its biggest bet yet. That’s Conan, the rebirth of the Robert E. Howard-created barbarian famously played by Arnold Schwarzenegger. Director Marcus Nispel is on track to start production March 15 in Bulgaria — if they can find the right barbarian. Last weekend, it seemed like things came down to two buff finalists: Kellan Lutz (Emmett Cullen in the Twilight Saga sequels New Moon and Eclipse), and Jason Momoa (Ronon Dex in the TV series Stargate: Atlantis). Suddenly, Millennium and partner Lionsgate decided today to look at another unnamed but better established actor before deciding.

Robert & Taylor: Guys to look out for in 2010

They have a stellar year in 2009 but 2010 brings more for Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. In a new article by MTV, they predict that these two leading men will even be bigger this coming year. They have more two movies to be released this year and they are more films in the pipeline.

Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson
Ages: 17 and 23

Hail From: Grand Rapids, Michigan, and London

In 2009: The guys teamed up once again on the big screen for “Twilight Saga: New Moon,” and their collective hotness and feud over Bella Swan broke box-office records. They kept their names in the gossip pages with constant speculation about their dating lives and had everyone asking the fundamental question: Team Edward or Team Jacob?

Why They’ll Be Huge in 2010: Lautner can be seen next in “Valentine’s Day” alongside former flame Taylor Swift, and he’s all set to tackle the lead role in the “Max Steel” movie. Meanwhile, Pattinson will be seen in the romance “Remember Me.” In June, the two heartthrobs will once again have girls swooning in “Twilight Saga: Eclipse.”

Choice Quote: “I think Bella’s little bit of treachery in the third one will be … I think it’s going to be a good scene,” Pattinson said of “Eclipse,” with Lautner adding, “My favorite scene in the entire series is the tent scene, where the three of us are together. And it’s gonna be really fun. There’s a lot of comedy in ‘Eclipse.’ “

Also, Anna Kendrick is tipped to be one of the rookies to watch out for in 2010. Her multi-nominated role in Up in the Air is just the beginning for this very talented actress.

Stephenie Meyer dominates USA Today’s Best-Selling Book List of 2009

Stephenie Meyer helped make 2009 the year of the vampires as vampire-related novels dominated the books charts last year. According to USA TODAY, the Twilight Saga are the Best-Selling Books of 2009, ending the year by occupying the top four spots in their list.
No author has done this before – not even Potter author JK Rowling. Stephenie’s success has pulled in 16 other vampire titles onto the list, making them part of the year’s 100 most popular books.

“Meyer had an unbelievable impact,” says Michael Norris, books analyst for Simba Information, a market-research firm. He wonders what publishers will do when what he calls ” ‘the vampire industrial average’ falls. Every cycle has an end.”

But for now, Meyer — who has also benefited from Twilight movie adaptations, with more to come — has turned “the YA (young adult) category into the PG-13 of books,” he says. “She’s not just read by tweens and teens, but by a lot of 30-year-old women.”
