Twilight actors Alex Meraz, Chaske Spencer, Eric Yorke, Booboo Stewart, Gil Birmingham and Julia Jones join other celebrities in making a PSA to help the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe who’s reservation has been devastated by severe ice storms.

Poll conducted shows Twilight books most likely to be pass to the next generation

In celebration of the World Book Day, a poll was conducted amongst the British people on which book would they likely pass on to the next generation. The poll was topped by the favorite Harry Potter series but the Twilight books placed 5th in the poll.

Books turned films led the way with The Da Vinci Code in second place and Stephanie Meyer’s Twilight in fifth.

More than 1,000 people were polled, from ages 16 to 64.

James Masters on Twilight

James Masters was one of the mean vampires in the hit teen show, Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Years after the show has closed, James has positive words on the current vampire trend led by Twilight.

“I like them man. They got my niece to read,” Marsters says on a conference call to promote his guest starring role on “Caprica.” “She wasn’t reading a lot, but she hit ‘Twilight’ and just ate them up and read them five, 10 times. Now she’s on to other vampire romances. She reads like a novel a day now. So, go Stephenie Meyer.”

Twilight cast supports Autism Awareness

If there is one thing that celebrities can do good with their fame, its attracting awareness for a good cause and help raise money for it.

According to icare4autism.org, Robert Pattinson and the rest of the cast has lent their support to the organization, who is keen to raise awareness for autism and support research to find cure for the disorder. The Twilight team has created a special item to be auctioned off at the Icare4autism 2010:Cocktail Gala, where the money raised will go to funding autism research and education conducted by the International Center for Autism Research and Education.

The official item to be donated is an EXCLUSIVE Twilight Limited Edition Movie Masterpiece Collage. This fabulous item is made up of memorabilia that is out of production, collectible snippets and things unavailable to the general public.

Ian Somerhalder: Vampire Diaries is different from Twilight

Vampire Diaries star Ian Somerhalder doesnt want to compare his show to Twilight. But that doesnt mean he is not grateful to the vampire franchise show. After all, according to him, Twilight paved the way for their show to be green lit.

“Let me first say, I appreciate Twilight in every way shape and form,” he told SFX.

“I’ve never seen the movies, purposely, because I don’t want to make any comparison, but their phenomenal box office success paved the way for our show to get a green light.

“So for that I am very thankful to the success of Twilight. Go Twilight. Thank you.”

But comparing both franchise is like comparing apple and oranges.

Somerhalder added that putting the two side-by-side is like “comparing apples and oranges” because the Robert Pattinson-fronted movie is a once-a-year event.
