Taylor Launter for Max Steel? (updated)

The LA Times has posted news that Paramount Pictures are considering New Moon actor Taylor Lautner to star as comic book hero, Max Steel. Negotiations are still early but if pushed through, Taylor will star as Josh McGrath, a 19-year-old extreme sports athlete who is accidentally exposed to nanotechological machines, which gives him increased strength and the ability to change his appearance.

Taylor is currently shooting some scenes for his movie, Valentines Day, together with Taylor Swift.

Update: Nikki Finke has confirmed that Taylor is indeed been tapped to play Max Steel. Paramount has confirmed to her that they have indeed approach the actor and will have Taylor star in the bog screen adaptation. This will be Taylor’s platform to be the next big young action star.
