Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart: Time and People’s Year-end List

2009 was definitely a big year for Twilight. Not only did the movie, New Moon, broke records in its opening day, it also established the films as a full-blown franchise. It has also made its stars, one of the most recognizable people today. Thus, its not surprising that they would be included in several year-end lists by magazines and news organizations. The latest of which are Time Magazine and People Magazine.

In its annual Best and Worst of 2009 issue, People Magazine listed down several celebrities that mattered and shook up 2009. One of which is Twilight leading man, Robert Pattinson, who was dubbed as “The Heartthrob. Robert certainly made the ladies hearts go a-flutter this year as he reprised  his role as vampire Edward Cullen in New Moon.

Taylor Lautner was also voted by its readers as the Most Wanted in 2010.

Time Magazine has also released its annual Person of the Year 2009 honors as well as the People who Mattered in 2009. Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were among the few entertainers who made it into the list. Here is what they have to say about Robert and Kristen:

It’s been at least a decade since we had a pair of authentic, shriek-inducing, catch-me-when-I-faint teen idols on our hands. But suddenly, OMG, they’re back. What makes the stars of the Twilight series so idolizable? It’s partly that ineffable combination of dirtiness and innocence: they’re sexy, but they’re not sexual. They’re also not generically beautiful. God knows they’re hot enough, but they look interesting too. Intelligent. Slightly askew. You don’t just want to look at them or sleep with them; you want to talk to them. Like the vampire Pattinson plays onscreen, you can see that once upon a time they were merely human, just like us.
