Robert Pattinson and Nicole Kidman in Bel Ami (updated)

Screendaily has reported that Robert Pattinson is set to star with Oscar winning actress Nicole Kidman in the adaptation of Guy de Maupassant’s novel, Bel Ami. Rob has previously mentioned that he is going to do the film next year although there was no announcement of his co-stars yet. Nicole is the first major announcement as his co-stars.

Multi-award winning UK directors Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod will direct film from the screenplay of Rachel Bennette. Uberto Pasolini will produce with Simon Fuller of 19 Entertainment acting as Executive Producer. The film is set to shoot in London and Budapest in February 2010. Bel Ami tells the story of the meteoric rise of a young man to Paris’ high society in the 1890′s by bedding the city’s most glamorous and influential women.

Update: According to Gossipcop, this report is untrue. They have talked to Nicole’s rep who have said that the movie is “categorically not happening for her.”
