Karen Long of Cleveland.com has listed Twilight as the top book phenomenon of the year. Its legion of female fans has not only propelled the series into the stratosphere but has also made the movie a box-office phenomenon.

Canada’s National Post’s coulmn, The Ampersand, has mentioned Twilight in their year end review of 2008. Its is considered as the phenomenon of 2008. From best selling books to movie success, 2008 was Twilight year and next year, it promises to be more with the release of the sequel, New Moon.

Twilight topped UK Box-office chart ahead of second place Madagascar 2. The film which was released in the UK on Dec. 19, earned an estimated £2.5 million.

In its 5th week of release, Twilight earned another $5.2 million, landing in sixth place at the box-office, which was lead by Jim Carrey’s Yes Man. Twilight dropped 34% on 2,991 theatres which brings in its domestic gross to $158.4million. It has also earned another $51.8 million on world wide box office release bringing its total earnings to $210.3 million.

Also, E online has added a new word into their dictionary: Pattronize.It’s a verb that means “To humor one’s Twilight-obsessed friends” who are all gaga over grungy-hunk, sensitive-vampire-dude Robert Pattinson.

In an interview with ITN, Robert Pattinson reveald that he didnt get any advice from Potter co-star Daniel Radcliffe in delaing with screaming girls. He also mentioned that he doesnt know what to do with all the screaming he gets and he thinks he needs to do something to reciprocate the adulations he is receiving.

Also, in an interview with ninemsn, Rob also mentioned that he doesnt see himself as good-looking. According to the actor, he always considered himself to be mangly at school and stares into a mirror before facing a crowd. Until to this day, he is still puzzled on why people consider him good looking.
